You Got Ripped OFF!! ~ Greg Hershberg

Dec 4, 2011 by     21 Comments    Posted under: Uncategorized

This is such an awesome power filled sermon from Greg Hershberg. One of the reasons I like this guy is he doesn’t hold back. He tells it like it is…like a guy from the Bronx would say it. I recently got his book on amazon.com and almost finished with it. Its a short book and so far I love it. I’ll probably review it in an upcoming video on my youtube channel.

Just at the 3:30 mark in the beginning of this video, Greg makes the claim, “You got ripped off”. That is exactly how I felt once I “figured it out” and came out of the system of man made religion.

Watch this sermon! You will love it.

  • rabbi Greg..certainly does tell it the way it is. I wouldn’t have it any other way. So thankful to G-d, that He lead me to Beth Yeshua International. I might not understand it all..thats ok. G-d is leading me as I take one step at a time. I’m just thankful to be in the truth. Truly the Truth does set you free. /

    • ps..Glad you got the book. 🙂

  • In Judaism, a rabbi is a teacher of Torah and Greg Hershberg is truly a Rabbi that loves the Word of God, lives the Word of God and blesses us because he teaches the Word of God.

For a Christian there is no other time you will experience a “life changing event” such as learning you have been deceived by the manmade doctrines and pagan traditions that have been Baptized into the churches today.

The pastors today have thrown away the Torah and nailed it to the cross and along with it, the Sabbath, the Feast of God, and the Ten Commandments. But in their place they gave us Easter for Passover, Christmas for The Feast of Tabernacles and never mention the glorious day all the world groans for, yes, the day when our Messiah returns at the Feast of Trumpets.

The pride of many blinds the truth from the eyes that they are deceived and it would be humiliating to say” I was wrong”. But if God gives you a heart of humility you will fall on your knees and thank God for bringing you out of the darkness of tradition.

If you chose to worship God in spirit and truth and open your mind to the God that does not change, the God that is the same yesterday, today, and forever, He will remove the blinders from your eyes and write His Commandments on your heart.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace.

  • I certainly agree wholeheartedly with your comments, Stephen. I have come to that place myself, as well. I sat in “Bible colleges” that oozed all the paganism you speak of, and now I am almost to the point of not even being capable of sitting through another “church service.” Adonai has been leading down a road of Truth discovery for over 5 years. I will be making the move soon to come out from among them and be separate. Rabbi Greg expounds God’s Torah to a degree and with a love and zeal and heart that “pastors” grievously lack. Not wanting to exalt rabbi Greg in ANY way, I’m sure he would be the first to avoid it, but he causes me to really desire to follow deeply after Adonai! I pray that God would continue to bless Rabbi Greg and cause him to be an ever increasing blessing as he leads the people in Torah! In the matchless LOVE of Yeshua, Kyle.

    • Amen Kyle. I went to a church service this last week…not really sure why. It was close by and I was bored I guess. It was painful. The pastor preached on Psalms 103. Guess what two verses in that chapter he left out of the whole sermon?

  • What a funny and odd sermon!!! This guy is not talking about being free throigh being forgiven through the saving blood of Jesus Christ.
This guy is honoring himself and putting his listerners under a new set of rules. He does not preach grace, but the law. He is also bossing around people and dealing with them as if they a children. Very respectless and arrogant!
This guy is not honoring God; I cannot see any Christlike character in his ways.
He is behaving as if he is Gof himself.
There is no bible passage at all, which he talks of.
When he talks of “ruach”, he gives a complete false interpetation. When he talks of John 17 he gives a complete wrong message. John 17 is a summary of the whole gospel if John, a prayer of Jesus!

Dear pastor. Please read the last verses of revelations and remember that you are dealing here with the worlds of the Almighty God. Be a little more respectful toward God. As a preacher myself we are to stick to Gods word and not come up with our own interpretations.
In order to pass on Gods word in the right way, one must thoroughly and prayerfully study it in context? Prayerfully do some word studies of the Hebrew and Greek text, before you compile your message. Ask God to tell you what you should say and then preach to yourself first, before you address others.
Because with what you confront people, God wil one day confront you.
    The bible explaines itself.
I wonder from which school you graduated????

    • Free? What should we be free from? Should we be free from the law, meaning that its now ok to commit adultery, steal from others, lie, or blaspheme? OR….are we free from the punishment of those sins? “Sin is transgression of the law” 1 John 3:4 and he is simply teaching what so many others have forgotten. These are not a new set of rules. These are the rules we had from the very beginning. God does not change.

It was John Wesley that said, “Teach 90% law, 10% grace”. Why? Because people need to know what kind of state their lives are in if they don’t have Yeshua standing in their place for the laws that they have broken (sin). “SIN IS TRANSGRESSION OF THE LAW” – 1 John 3:4 How many times do I need to quote it?

Pastor Luo, if you are just teaching grace, love and happiness in Christ but have avoided God’s Holy Law, chances are you have an unrepentant congregation openly living in adultery, pornography, who lie and steal, who set up idols of entertainment in their lives over the things of the Almighty. We all do these things but we remember His Law in order to stay repentant and close to Him. When we fail, its the grace and love that catches the repentant sinner. You can’t repent unless you first know the law and what you are repenting of.

    • I’d have to agree with the pastor … I know of this man, Gregg Hershberg, and am familiar with his congregation. Pastor Luo is right on target … the real man and the man on the pulpit and two different people.

      • I know of Rabbi Greg also. His teaching has encouraged and taught us so much. John 1- In the beginning was the Word…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. Yeshua is the “law” better translated as the Torah. Do you really want to be like him and do what the word tells us from Genesis to Revelations? Or do you want to be one of those that say we don’t have to do any of the word no longer – it doesn’t apply to us. You are actually saying Yeshua doesn’t apply to you. Pastor Luo needs to reread Revelations if he is saying the word no longer applies. He’s made a serious mistake in leading others against Yeshua.

        • Amen Kathy! 🙂

Jesus Says I am the WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE. What did he mean by that?

LAW IS THE WAY – Psalms 119:33
LAW IS THE TRUTH – Psalms 119:142
LAW IS THE LIFE – Proverbs 13:13-14

          Coincidence? I think not.

      • I know Rabbi Greg and his family as I have been their next door neighbor for
almost 8 years. I’m not sure what Marcie means by knowing Rabbi Greg but
I know he loves the Lord so much. He is so in love with his wife and he adores
his children. He preaches 100% grace and 100% truth which is the way it
should be. Remember Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law (Matthew 5:17).
He came to fulfill it. It is still wrong to commit idolatry, lie, commit adultery, kill, steal,
etc. It doesn’t matter about opinions anyway. The proof is in the pudding as they
say. Beth Yeshua continues to bless people. Bethy Yeshua doesn’t advertise
on TV or radio and yet people are constantly coming. Praise Adonie for his
        grace and truth!

      • You can agree on whatever you want but the truth STILL stands alone. This isnt a salvation issue but it is a placement issue of wether you want to be on the outside in Heaven or be the bride at the banquet. There is a whole other issue foryou to learn about.
Then your eyes are opened to the truth and wanting to follow the torah, it will be as if bible learning is starting all over and it is much, much more interesting and you can see so much more.

      • It just never stops. Mr Hershberg, you speak with passion and understanding that these others sorrowfully just refuse to admit they don’t understand. It’s hard to batter bk and forth. Take great comfort in the many that hear your truth which is spoken with clarity. The others on here that refute you do so out of stubbornness . Grateful to be able to hear you teach not preach.

    • Pastor Luo,

I agree that there is humor in the sermon presented by Greg Hershberg. But I can’t see where you find anything odd in it. To suggest that Greg presenting the Torah appropriately as something to be obeyed somehow equates to placing people under bondage is very much a misconception very firmly rooted within Christianity.

Deuteronomy 30:11 “For this commandment that I command you today is not [too hard] for you, neither is it far off.
      Emphasis added

Does this give you the impression that the Torah (Law) was bondage?

It is very sad that the desire to actually examine scripture from an honest and unbiased position is something many are unwilling or incapable of performing. In fact I would have to say that Greg is not presenting a new set of rules he is simply restating the original instructions given to us within the Torah.

If the Law was abolished then surely the will of God must have changed also. Do you really think that He or what He desires has changed?

You state that you could not see Christ-likeness in Greg. Well a statement like that applies to all of us really. We are all very far from Christ-likeness aren’t we?

You present your opinion regarding how to prepare a sermon. The question I have to ask is can you show scripturally that you should compile a sermon in the manner you have detailed? I am not so sure that what you have presented is Biblical or perhaps a man made (seminary) tradition? I have to suggest that preparing a sermon in advance and practicing it on yourself, does seem to me to make it more likely that what you present is going to be based more on your own understanding, and the Ruach would be quenched.

Could it be that you have an incorrect understanding of what scripture is actually presenting?

Perhaps the school you graduated from gave you the incorrect understanding?

Does scripture indicate that you must go to a school to learn to be a teacher? Or is the ability to be a teacher a God given gift?

It is unfortunate that no man has all the truth today. And that would include any Biblical schools. We all have misunderstandings and misinterpretations. I think that we all need to come together rather than ripping each other down. I cannot say that I agree with everything stated by Greg. But I can say that I firmly believe that what he did state was from his heart being Ruach led.

I hope that this can be edifying for us all

      Will Jones

    • Well, had not Yahweh opened my eyes to the truth of His Torah, I may think the same. Greg is very good to listen to and you can take your Bible at any time like you are supposed to and study what he has said.
The reason why mainstream christians argue and say we are not saved any more and think we have gone off our rocker is because of pride that they think they know it all. Dont say no because you will be lying…….I havebeen in the mainstream christianity. But… HE has to open your eyes. Also, we shouldnt be argueing about this and we are not supposed to be enemies. If we are truly saved we are grafted in and we can have differences. The only thing is that we have been awaked to the torah. He says that if you love me, keep my commandments. He commanded us to keep Shabbat, Saturday, He didnt change it catholics did. He told us to do His feasts The early believers kept them and Yahweh kept them and we are supposedto do what He did right?? But it doesnt matter what we tell or explain to you because if you hold on to your pride it may keep you from seeing the truth. If you are a pastor and teching against this you will be the LEAST of these. If you do t believe that after Yaweh plainly said it…you are calling Him a liar on top of your misteachings.

  • JEUS gave us two commands to love God and love our neighbor, all the Law and Prohets are in those two for example if you love God with all your heart you won’t take his name in vain, you won’t have other gods, also you wouldn’t steal from your neighbor if you love them, or covet their things, or desire his wife or daughter. If your salvation is based on keeping the Law then grace is of no affect. Jesus did it all and said it is finished and by grace He made it available to man, and by faith the believer attains and applies what God gave by His grace.

    • No Alden, Jesus did not give us those commands. The Father gave us those commands in Torah. Love God is in Deut.6:5 and Love your Neighbor is Lev. 19:18. Jesus/Yeshua came to live out those examples and the Torah in order to give us a perfect example to follow. So if you say you love God but don’t walk in his ways (works) then the Bible says the truth is not in you. Jesus also came to free us from the punishment of disobeying those laws and instructions. But now that he has freed us from the curse of our disobedience, we should strive to follow in the ways that Jesus/Yeshua did.

Read 1 John 2:6. It’s simple. If you love Him, you will want to walk as he walked…keeping the law. You don’t walk the walk to be saved. You walk the walk in order to be obedient.

  • Dear Pastor Luo,

With all due respect, you have totally missed what was said in the sermon. I have been going to Beth Yeshua for over 6 years and have been Rabbi’s neighbor for almost 9. So I can say with certainty, Rabbi is definitely not arrogant! You seem to think it is important that a man go to a certain type of school. The disciples themselves were described as unlearned men. If a person has the Holy Spirit, he or she has the best teacher. Rabbi is acknowledging God and following his ways which Yeshua/Jesus did not change. God and Yeshua agree. They don’t disagree. Additionally, Rabbi says we are saved by grace lest no man should boast at 14:09. Also, what about Matthew 5:17-19? Here Yeshua says, “Don’t think that I’ve come to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I’ve come not to destroy but to fulfill. Til heaven and earth pass away, not one letter or stroke will in no way pass from the Law until all is fulfilled.” Earth is still here, so the Law and Prophets still stand. Rabbi is sometimes misunderstood by some because he is so passionate and on fire for God, that some aren’t used to that. So instead of beating up your brother in the Lord, let’s try praying for him as believers should. As believers, we shouldn’t have so much discord and name calling.
We should lift each other up in love. Also, this is a great part of the sermon to focus on: it’s at 24:08 through 24:28.

    Prophets still

  • This man is passionate when he stands up and gives his sermons. Most people are spell bound and he openly states he takes no glory, but to God himself. Id say from reading Pastor Luo’s comment, he is envious of his style and down right jealous of the way he delivers his sermons. But, Pastor Luo, I forgive you.

  • I thank Yahweh for speaking throgh Greg. I love to watch on Shabbat and get upset, like today when it wouldnt stream! Yes, he does have humor in His sermons which make them REAL . I honestly went on the radio to listen to my former pastor speak. I used to think he was the best….Im not a pastor worshipper……..I couldnt stand it!! There were so many discrepancies in the teaching. THANK YOU sooo much Yahweh for opening my eyes. I pray for my family and so many others to know your truth! I also know that since my eyes and heart have been opened, it has brought me closer to Him although former church members pray for my salvation that they thought Ive lost or was never there.

  • I’ve been listening to Rabbi Greg for about 5 years now and share his Shabbat teachings each week on my ministry [along with other good teachers]. Today was part II of “God NEVER promised you a rose garden [Suffering, trial, and tribulation]” … sadly, a message you will never hear in the church :'( WE need more Rabbi Gregs, who call it like he sees it and is a humble man! I love his prison ministries, Orphans and widows in Israel, and the school and training to Pastors in India <3

Part I last week sets the foundation and a must listen to!

    Here is this weeks link!
