Kill the TV! Brainwashing in the 21st Century
This post probably won’t win me many popularity contests. I’m going to mostly speak now to the men out there. I get lots of emails from wives saying that they wish their husbands would agree to get rid of the TV. Men make excuses because of sports, a favorite TV show, keeping up on the news and so on. Many times the Father is off to work during the day and that “distraction box” that is ALWAYS on when Dad is home, plagues those kids and they either sit in front of it or bug mom to watch it when it’s turned off.
Mom can see there is a draw that is pulling those kids into the box and its mostly unsettling for many women when they see their children being pulled into something that is mostly filled with godless nonsense. The shows on PBS and Nickelodeon seem fun and educational for kids sometimes, but if you sit and really take notice, they are filled with tiny bits of worldly viewpoints. Kids love dinosaurs for example. But in these shows you see they use these creatures to point to “millions of years” which is completely against scripture. They are (maybe unwittingly) preparing a future generation for denying scripture.
Men, you need to stand up. Nothing good comes from that box. By getting rid of that box, you eliminate the temptation of flipping a switch and allowing your child’s imagination to be replaced with someone else’s for 30 minutes or however long its on.
When you watch your sports, you’re teaching your children to stand in awe of what man can do instead of what the Father can do. You’re unknowingly preparing them to think it’s okay to have idols of men in their life. When they see the cheerleaders on the screen at the football and basketball games, they are seeing that its okay that women dress in that fashion. After all, Daddy is watching it so it must be okay. As far as the news, most of what comes across as news is bogus anyway. Learn to get your news from alternative news sources online. The Cable news shows are bought and paid for by conglomerate corporations. Don’t believe me, watch this.
There remains one choice. Kill your TV! You won’t believe how much your family will benefit.

Please wear eye protection while attempting this at home. =)
Ours went black years ago. That box speaks another message aside from the picture and words on the screen. Praise Yah we got it away from the kids while they were quite young.
I am basically done with the idiot box, I would rather study from the Word and all the great Hebrew roots teaching sites out like Zack’s site (New 2 Torah), but my wife is still some wants to be connected to the world. We are going through a rough spell right now but may Yah bless her with some wisdom!
