One of the common questions I get is the verses in Luke 16:6 and Matthew 11:12. These are given as examples to show that the law is no longer applicable. Let’s look at the verses.

Luke 16:16
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

Matthew 11:12-13
And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.

First off, I think we can all agree that John the Baptist was a prophet and Jesus/Yeshua acknowledged him as such. That is what these two verses are pointing out. What was the uniting message of ALL the prophets in the Old Testament? SIMPLE: Repent, and turn back to the ways of the Father! It was no different for John and our Messiah. The message was still the same. Repent, meaning turn from “wicked” ways and back to the Father’s ways. What are those ways? Torah.

Luke 16:16 makes it very easy to dispel the myth that this is a text supporting the dissolution of Torah. READ THE VERY NEXT VERSE!

Luke 16:17
And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

Then read the REST of the chapter. Messiah tells the story of Lazarus and the rich man. The rich man wishes to COME BACK and tell his brothers of his testimony to avoid his fate. However, our Father Abraham tells the rich man that his brothers have MOSES and the PROPHETS! Let them HEAR!

Luke 16:31
And he said unto him, If they hear NOT Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

These are the very words of the Messiah to those listening to Him. Hear Moses and the Prophets! The reason is because like John, Moses and all the prophets all tried to plead with God’s people to REPENT and turn back to the ways of the Father.

Those who have eyes, let them see and those who have ears, let them hear. Look up how many times THAT is written in your Bible!

I hear over and over again these excuses from people who after discovering Torah go back on even thinking about Yeshua being Messiah. This has to do with those who step out of one set of traditions and doctrines of Christianity to dive into a whole other set of traditions of Judaism.

During their search of truth, they begin to seek and stumble on those in Judaism that seem to have valid arguments of why Yeshua CAN NOT be the Messiah. Have you encountered these people?

I certainly have. I have gone through MANY of their arguments and I have NOT FOUND one yet that I cannot disprove with proper study and biblical facts.

One of these common arguments is the line of Jeconiah. Here is a very well put together video that blows this argument out of the water.

There is one TRUE Messiah. His name is Yeshua. He is coming back.

I had a series of questions thrown at me before this weekend and I recorded a quick video for my response. These are often times the questions I get from Christians concerning the Torah and the keeping of it.

Below is the video and list of questions given to me. The audio is a bit off but you should still be able to follow along.

—————————-

So let me try to understand what your believe:

1. Concerning the Law of Moses, the New Testament says, “But concerning the Gentiles who believe, we have written and decided that they should observe no such thing, except that they should keep themselves from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.” -Acts 21:25

But YOU believe that a Christian should observe the Law of Moses?

2. Concerning changing things, the New Testament says, “For the priesthood being changed, of necessity there is also a change of the law.”

But YOU believe that the Law did not change because God doesn’t change?

3. Concerning the Old Covenant and it’s Law, the New Testament says, “In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” -Hebrews 8:13

But YOU believe that the Old Covenant is not obsolete?

4. Concerning the Law of Moses, the New Testament says, “For on the one hand there is an ANNULLING OF THE FORMER COMMANDMENT because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.” -Hebrews 7:18-19

But YOU believe that there was no annulling of any commandment?

5. Concerning shellfish, the New Testament says, “For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.” -1 Timothy 4:4-5

But YOU believe that a Christian should not eat shellfish?

6. Concerning the Sabbaths, the New Testament says, “So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths”

But YOU believe that it would be a sin for a Christian to work on Saturday?

7. Concerning the Law of Moses again, the New Testament says, “Indeed I, Paul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing.” -Galatians 5:2

But YOU believe that Christians should still get circumcised?

I could ask more, but I really would like the answers to these seven things, and two more:

1. How is it that you believe that you “totally believe what the New Testament says” if you do not believe the above Scriptures?

2. How is it that you believe that the New Testament “says nothing new,” when the above Scriptures state the opposite of the Law of Moses?

Bible software today can really open up some understanding of writings in the old and new testaments. Take for instance the word “Obey”. Do a word search on “Obey”.

The first couple of examples in the NT is in reference to our Messiah in how men marveled in His ability to command the wind and the sea and how they obey Him. In the book of Acts however, and in Romans and Galatians, things get interesting!

In Acts 5, Peter and the other Apostles are brought before the priests of the temple and are asked WHY they are still teaching of Messiah. Peter’s response?

Acts 5:29
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to OBEY God rather than men.

What did God command them to Obey?

It gets better!

Romans 2:8
But unto them that are contentious, and do not OBEY the truth, but OBEY unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

What is Paul now referring to? What is the Truth one must OBEY? He is also referring to those who OBEY UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. Understand that at the time, the only scriptures Paul and the others have is the writings of the Old Testament. Compare the above verse with this:

Psalms 119:142
Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law(TORAH) is the truth.

If we are going to “OBEY”, we need to know what exactly we should “OBEY”. It would be silly to try and OBEY without directive on what that’s referring to exactly. The disconnect with modern churches today is that we have no knowledge of the Torah, the instructions the Father gives us to OBEY. We also don’t understand that by not Obeying, its called Sin.

Deuteronomy30:10
If you OBEY the LORD your God and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the law(TORAH) and turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Deuteronomy30:11
Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach.

Deuteronomy30:12
It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may OBEY it?”

Deuteronomy30:13
Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may OBEY it?”

Deuteronomy30:14
No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may OBEY it.

When you read the word “OBEY” in the NT. Many times it’s talking about those who OBEY the commandments of God rather than the traditions of MEN. The men living in the days of our Messiah knew perfectly well that a transformed man being made New by the blood of our Messiah, would walk out the Torah, keeping as best he could the commandments. He would do so knowing that the sacrifice of our Father on the cross released him from the penalty of death we deserved for breaking the commands and instructions we were told to obey.

Once released from that judgement, the true believer would have no desire other than to walk in the way our Messiah walked and imitate His perfect example and keep the instructions that BEFORE when he broke them, condemned him to death.

1 John 2:6
He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.

My wife loves avocados. I like them too with some of the mexican food dishes we make. But did you know that almost all avocado plants at some point are grafted unto other trees to promote good health and harvest of the plant?

One of the least talked about aspects of the New Testament is the grafting in of strangers outside of the family of Israel.

The first grafting in that I can find in my Bible was when the Israelites left Egypt. Many who left where not of the seed of Jacob or his family. Kaleb is a good example of this. His father, Jephunneh was a Kenizzite from Cannan. They were also slaves in the land of Egypt and left with the Hebrews while the getting was good. Kaleb was grafted in to the Tribe of Judah.

Ruth also being a Moabite woman became an Israelite when she declared to Naomi that her God would now be the God of the Hebrew people. She took on the customs and instructions to Life of the Hebrews.

The point is that anyone could join themselves to the Israelite Hebrews, the people chosen by our Father to be a light to the nations.

This is what Paul talks about in Romans 11 and Ephesians 2.

Ephesians 2:11-13
Wherefore remember, that ye BEING IN TIME PAST GENTILES in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

That at that time ye were without Christ, being ALIENS from the commonwealth of Israel, and STRANGERS from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made NEAR by the blood of Christ.

Paul is talking about being grafted into Israel. Not the country…the PEOPLE!

Today you have all these Christians thinking that they are Gentiles, being the church of the true god. This is FALSE! To be a Gentile is to be from the nations and without the True Father. If you are grafted into Messiah, then you are no longer an alien/stranger/gentile, but one who sojourns with Israel. Again, not the nation but the people!

Look at what happens during the first grafting in inside your Bible.

Exodus 12:48-49
And when a STRANGER shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and HE SHALL BE as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. ONE TORAH shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the STRANGER that sojourneth among you.

Many who where not from the seed of Jacob came out of Egypt. It was a “mixed multitude” of nations but if they kept the commandments of the Father, they became one people. A great people.

Are you a part of that people?

This is a hot topic around this time of the year because of Passover. I keep hearing so many stories of Hebrews getting circumcised as adults when they discover the Truth of Torah and what our Messiah came to preach! It’s the difference between getting a circumcision to be saved and getting a circumcision because you have ALREADY been saved.

Heart before flesh. That is all you are seeing here.

We had this year someone who got upset because they were not invited to Passover because this was a known issue. It’s easy. Hebrews are circumcised. It’s one of the many ways the Father sets HIS PEOPLE apart from the rest of the world. Exodus 12:48 leaves little to misinterpretation.

As for Paul, Did he say to never get circumcised? Or did he point out over and over again that it was not to be done according to the directives of men? The same is done today with preachers who GLORY over the number of people they can get in their water baptistries. The same was done in Paul’s day. Read Carefully!

Galatians 6:13
“For neither they(RELIGIOUS LEADERS) themselves who are circumcised keep the law; but desire to have YOU circumcised, that they may GLORY in your flesh.

I can’t count how many churches I have been to that put up pictures or numbers on a wall or bulletin, GLORIFYING in how many professions of faith or baptisms they had last month. They are who Paul speaks about! It’s the same thing!

Heart BEFORE the flesh.

Enjoy the Video.

So many times when they read examples of our Messiah clashing with the pharisees, we misunderstand that the elders of those days were following man made doctrines that we know today as the Talmud and the Mishna. They had set aside the commandments of God for the doctrines of the religious leaders. But when christians read that, they think its refering to the laws given to Moses. WRONG!

It’s the result of reading things without proper context. It’s the result of starting your understanding from the back of the book instead of the front of the book.

I set someone straight in this recent upload to my youtube channel. Enjoy and Blessings!
